Last night I met my boyfriend, Todd, for a little date night. We went out to dinner at Seasons 52. This restaurant just opened in our area and I have been there only once before. They pride themselves on creating healthy & flavorful dishes with a seasonally changing menu. To drink, I ordered a glass of shiraz and Todd ordered a beer.
To begin our meal, we ordered the Rosemary & Parmesan Cheese Crispbread…
and Spicy Chicken Chile Relleno with goat cheese and spinach on pico de gallo….
Both of these were delicious. The spicy chicken chile relleno was pretty darn spicy! I had to gulp down lots of water with that but it was worth it…so flavorful!
For my entree, I ordered the same thing that I got last time I was there! I wanted to branch out and try something different, but that was what I was truly craving and it was so good the last time I ordered it! So I ordered the Cedar Plank Atlantic Salmon with whole roasted sweet carrots, fresh asparagus, & red bliss potatoes.
It was just as enjoyable as last time. The cedar plank gives the salmon such a nice taste. Todd ordered the Grilled rack of New Zealand Lamb with red bliss potatoes, asparagus, balsamic onions, and Dijon sauce. He enjoyed it very much but unfortunately I did not get a picture!
We decided against getting dessert at the restaurant because we wanted to try out a new frozen yogurt place that opened up just around the corner, Sprinkles. There were so many people there! I’m sure this place is going to continue to get lots of business, especially from me! I just love making my own yogurt concotions!
Last night, I wanted to try a good mix of flavors so my concoction was sort of crazy. My cup consisted of Vanilla, Cappuccino, Peanut Butter, & Tart. Their frozen yogurt is great!!! Probably some of the best I’ve had. I topped my yogurt with Reese’s Cups and Graham Cracker Pie crumbles. The picture is not that great because I was in a rush to devour my creation…
So delicious!!!
After our eating adventures, we went and saw The Hangover. Some of you had commented and said that I would enjoy this movie….and I did! It was hilarious…I was pretty much laughing the whole time. If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, put it on your to-do list…you gotta see it!!!
This morning I woke up and went over to the farmer’s market for some fresh fruit. I bought green, black and red grapes, peaches, blueberries, cherries, bananas, & watermelon. Now I am on fruit overload…I am so bloated from eating so much!!
I made myself a bowl of oats with some of the fruit that I bought. Today’s bowl consisted of a banana, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, a peach, milk, cinnamon, & a drizzle of honey. Part way through eating, I realized I forgot to snap a picture…
Boy, I am stuffed now. I was going to cut up the watermelon…but I will just have to wait till later.
I do not have much of a plan for the day. Tonight at around 6 or 6:30 there is a group run at one of our local running stores. They are giving out free socks & water bottles so it has to be pretty cool! I’m excited to run with a group of people…should be different! After the group run, we are going to grab something for dinner at Whole Foods…you can imagine my excitement. Whole Foods is amazing.
Speaking of running, a few weeks ago I had mentioned that I bought a pair of Saucony Hurricane’s. Well as it turned out, I really did not like them so I went back to my usual Brooks Adrenaline’s! I figured why change something that doesn’t need to be changed. I ran a marathon in the Brooks so they must be working for me! The man at the running store said that the Brooks did not offer me maximum support because my foot was a little too wide for them. He was really surprised that I did not like the Hurricane’s because he said that they were his number one seller. Hmm…I guess I just love my Brooks!
I hope you all have a great Wednesday!! 🙂
Hey Mare!! Where is this sprinkles place?!
All your food looks amazing! I wish I could get a free pair of socks and a water bottle. I need some! Lol. Have fun with your group run tonight!
I wear the Adrenaline’s too! Hardcore runners wear Brooks 🙂
